The books: one teacher's license

Each copy is licensed to the teacher named when it was bought. That name and school are printed on every page, answer keys included. The license does not expire.

• You may print and copy any student page for your own students, every year you teach, and show pages on your classroom screen.
• You may keep the file on your own devices and print the answer keys for yourself. The answer keys are for you, not for students.
• You may not give the file or copies to other teachers, post it where anyone outside your classes can reach it, sell it, or remove the name.
• A school or department buys one copy for each teacher who uses the book, and can pay by purchase order.

Note Expedition

Note Expedition, a room-wide melody hunt for keyboard percussion, is one ZIP file of posters, passports and guides, the same for every buyer. Its files carry no name. Its license is the line every page prints:

• For classroom use by the purchaser. Do not resell, redistribute, or post the files publicly.
• You may have a copy shop print the files for your classroom.

The assessments: one teacher's license

The HS and MS Percussion Assessments are licensed to the teacher who buys them. Each assessment downloads as its own ZIP file, the same for every buyer, and its files carry no name. The license does not expire.

• You may print, copy and fill in the forms for your own students, every year you teach, and show them on your classroom screen.
• You may keep the files on your own devices and edit the projector slides for your own classes.
• You may not give the files to other teachers, post them where anyone outside your classes can reach them, or sell them.
• A school or department buys one copy for each teacher who uses them, and can pay by purchase order.

Getting your download

• At checkout you give your email address and, for a book, the name and school to print on your copy.
• After you pay, we email you a download link for each item you bought. A book is made when you download it, with your name on every page. Note Expedition and the assessments download as they are.
• Each link works for 30 days, up to 20 downloads a day. Anyone who has the link can download what you bought, so keep the email to yourself.
• Lost the file, or the link has run out? Ask for new links at press.praxispercussion.com/resend. We email them to the address you bought with.

Paying with a purchase order

• A school can pay by purchase order for a book, for Note Expedition or for the assessments, in any quantity. Email us for a quote. For a book, tell us the name and school to print on each teacher's copy.
• When the purchase order arrives, we email the files and send the school our invoice.
• A Texas school district buying for itself pays no sales tax, so none is added to its invoice.

Corrections and refunds

• A wrong name: email us. Every copy you download after we correct it prints the corrected name.
• An error in a book, in Note Expedition or in an assessment: when we correct one, every later download is the corrected copy, at no charge. Ask for a new link to get it.
• Refunds: if what you bought is not what its page describes, email us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund it in full. A refund ends the license, and its download links stop working.
• Sales tax for schools: a Texas school district buying for itself is exempt from sales tax. If the district paid online and was charged tax, email us its Form 01-339 or its purchase order, and we will refund the tax. Refunding the tax does not end the license.

What we keep about your purchase

Praxis Percussion is a Backwerd Rimshot, LLC product, operated from Fort Worth, Texas. This section covers purchases of the books, of Note Expedition and of the assessments only.

What we keep

• Your email address, and the name and school you asked us to print on a book.
• What you bought and its edition, your order reference, and the date.
• Stripe's reference for your payment, used only to match a refund to your order.
• When we sent your links, and whether the order was held for us to check or was refunded.
• For each download link: a scrambled form of it that cannot be turned back into the link, when it runs out, and how many times it was used that day.
• If your school orders by quote: our emails about the order, with the copies we send in them, the quote, and any purchase order you send us, which may give a billing address.
• If your district claims its sales tax exemption: the Form 01-339 or purchase order it sends us, which names the district and whoever signed it.

We never receive your card details. Unless your school orders by quote or claims its tax exemption, we keep no address and no copy of your file. Nothing we sell collects anything about your students.

Why

To make and send your copy, send it again when you ask, answer your questions, handle a refund, and show whose copy a file is. We use your email only for your order. We send no newsletters or marketing.

If an order needs our attention before it can be sent, for example a name the book's typeface cannot print, its details come to us by email so we can put it right.

Who handles it for us

• Stripe takes your payment. Card details go to Stripe, and Stripe keeps its own record of the payment under its own privacy policy.
• Cloudflare runs the delivery service at press.praxispercussion.com and stores the records above. Its Turnstile check keeps the new-link form from being used by scripts.
• Resend sends the emails with your links.
• Google Workspace holds our email, including anything you send us about an order.

The delivery pages set no cookies of their own.

How long

• Your license record (what you bought, any name printed, and your email) is kept for as long as the license, so a lost copy can always be sent again. Because the license does not expire, that means until you ask us to delete it.
• A quoted order's emails, quote and purchase order are kept with its license record.
• A district's Form 01-339 or purchase order for its tax exemption is kept for four years as a tax record, even if you ask us to delete your order.
• Download link records are deleted a week after the link runs out.
• Records of Stripe's payment notices, which hold no personal details, are deleted after 400 days.

Your choices

To see, correct, or delete what we keep, email us. Deleting your license record means we can no longer send your copy again. It does not delete Stripe's record of the payment.
