HS Percussion Assessments

Snare, keyboard, timpani and auxiliary, plus two tracking tools

Each assessment scores a student's playing one criterion at a time, against cues you can see and hear. Print it, cut it into pass-off cards, or fill it in on a screen.

  • Coming soon · not on sale yet
  • Printable and fillable PDFs
  • No student accounts, no data collected

What's in each assessment

Each of the six HS resources downloads as its own set of files.

  • A fillable PDF to complete on a computer or tablet
  • The scoring sheet or tracker to print, one per page or two per page
  • Pass-off cards, four to a page, with cut lines
  • A one-page director quick-fix reference of common problems and fixes
  • Projector slides for the Snare, Keyboard, Timpani and Auxiliary assessments: an editable PowerPoint file that opens in Google Slides, PowerPoint or Keynote, and a PDF to project as is
  • Every print file in color and in black and white
The HS Snare fillable quick-score form: five criteria and an optional sight-reading extension, each with observable cues, a score box and notes. A page of HS Snare pass-off cards: Technique, Rhythmic Accuracy, Dynamic Control, and Articulation and Clarity, each with its cues, a score box and lines for notes. The HS Weekly Progress Snapshot: six weekly rows for tempo achieved, phrasing, release precision and error trends, then a six-week summary.

Fits

Weekly pass-offs, semester juries, contest-preparation checkpoints and student self-assessment in a high school percussion program.

What it is not

It does not score playing for you: the cues say what to listen and look for, and the score is your observation of one performance. No student accounts, no data collected.

License

One teacher's license. Print, copy and fill in the forms for your own students, every year you teach, and edit the projector slides for your classes. Do not give the files to other teachers or post them publicly; a school buys one copy for each teacher.
